It's built on a one piece die cast aluminum frame with an aluminum spool to withstand season after season of punishment. The combination of both an aluminum spool and frame removes the flex out of the reel on those sizzling runs. Many of the reels with graphite spools rub against the frame on a hard run. Most fisherman think that the drag is sticking or that they did something wrong. But when they check the drag it works fine.
