| Hammerback Minnows Manufactured by Plugsplus in Grand Rapids, Mi. Hammerback minnows are hand made from wooden blanks. The lures are finished in a multi-step process that gives them one of the toughest coatings in the business. The wooden blank is first coated with a hardener and sealer that bonds the surface fibers together and seals up any pores in the wood. The body is then coated with a primer for maximum paint adhesion and a smooth base coat of hammerite paint is applied to the lure. The base coat is allowed to cure for a week before subsequent hammerite coats are layered on the achieve the desired finish. After the glass eyes and hook cups are set, the bait is given several coats of clear bowling alley urethane for the ultimate in durability. Finally the appropriate hardware is attached for the model being manufactured. As durable as I have tried to make these baits, the eyes are still glass and the bodies wood. Heavy impacts and big fish can still damage the baits. The main purpose of the finish is to keep the bait from soaking up water and changing it's action as you fish. Each model is limited to 100 baits per color. Each lure comes with a numbered and color coded box. Plugsplus your Sporting Goods Alternative. |

| The Hammerback Unsinkable Propeller Bait The Hammerback unsinkable prop bait is a Nip-I-Diddee style lure. It can be fished fast like a buzz bait but it really works its magic at slower speeds. It's the squeaking sound of the blades turning on the shaft that call up the bass from deep in the weeds. If you're out in the middle of the lake and you can hear people talking on shore, it's the perfect time to use this bait. Model 35GH2GTUY 3.5" Long Golden Shiner |
